Now think of this the 302 Boss was ran for long distances at 7500 rpm to 8000rpm and stayed together, The Nascar guys use to run them and lots of the NMRA guys hunted those cranks for the bad A$$ cars till they came out with better cranks. Lee Shepard, Stevens / Linky drove a 302 Boss in a super mod car and regularly shifted it at 10,000+ rpm. lots of Pro guys use to use this crank in 351 Cleveland block to destroke them and rev the heck out of them. I say run it if you have it what your going to do to it will not hurt it, but I would have it checked out for cracks and such.. I use to run a 302 Boss and ran low 10.s all day long never had any problems and shifted it between 9000 and 10,500 with 5.67 or 5.86 gears all the time.
