Mitsubishi unveils ‘Switch to Red’ drive

MUSCAT There’s been a buzz around Oman about the ‘Switch to Red’ advertising campaign and who is behind it. But after weeks of speculation, the answer was revealed on Saturday, according to a press release.
Red is associated with many things and people have been guessing about the advertisements in the media and poster sites that have become so prominent in the city — is it a new brand of mobile phone? Or a new restaurant? How about a new fashion label or a new food product?
On Saturday at the Zubair Automotive showroom at Athaiba, the brand that brought ‘power’, ‘heat’, ‘passion’ and ‘power’ in such a graphic way, was unveiled as none other than Mitsubishi Motors.
“
The Omani market is becoming increasingly more competitive with many consumers now looking at the new, predominantly European, car brands,” said Bob Seshadri, Group Marketing Manager, Zubair Automotive. “We wanted to remind people of what has made Mitsubishi such a successful brand around the world - the combination of the latest engineering, stylish good looks and an unmatchable safety record.”
Explaining the creative strap line, he said ‘Switch to Red’ is our way of creating an unique position in the market and it will be at the heart of all our customer communications going forward - and like the ‘Just do it’ campaign for Nike - we hope it will become synonymous with Mitsubishi.”
The Athaiba showroom was ‘Switched to Red’ for Saturday’s event where a range of amazing new offers are set to be announced in the days to come, alongside a commitment to customers that Mitsubishi will be totally focused on offering the best possible service.
