Toyota develops rear window airbag
TOKYO, Japan - Toyota developed rear window curtain shield airbag to protect rear passengers' heads in the event of a rear-end collision. If the vehicle is hit from behind, the airbag deploys from the roof lining above the rear window. Along with the headrests, the airbag helps to reduce the impact to the heads of the rear passengers. Toyota plans to use the rear window airbag in its soon-to-be launched "iQ" ultra-compact car.
