The Diamante delivers a fine blend of styling and power. Its four-wheel independent suspension and variable-assist power rack-and-pinion steering should bring a satisfied grin to your face each time you challenge an unsuspecting curve. There are anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) at all four wheels to ensure confident stops in a multitude of situations. And for added safety, especially in wet conditions, you can even opt for traction control* (standard on VR-X model) - designed to give you ideal traction in a variety of situations.
Your safety, and the safety of your passengers, has always been a primary concern of Mitsubishi engineers. That is why the Diamante is constructed with the Refined Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) unibody chassis, which includes integrated front and rear crumple zones and steel side-guard impact door beams to direct impact energy away from passengers. You'll also find dual front air bags†, child safety door locks and three-point safety belts. If you have small children, you'll be glad to know there are upper tether anchors, which help let you easily and effectively secure a child seat in the rear passenger area. For added security, an alarm system with remote keyless entry, remote trunk release and panic button are all standard features. The Diamante helps keep you comfortable and safe wherever you drive.

†Air bags can cause serious injury or death to anyone too close to an air bag when it deploys. To decrease the risk of injury from a deploying air bag, all occupants must be properly restrained and seated well back, upright, and in the middle of the seat. Do not lean against the door. Always place children 12 and under in the rear seat and use appropriate child restraint. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat.
